Instructions for Authors:

  • Abstracts must be written in English and must not exceed 300 words. Submissions must be in Word format (.docx) and uploaded via the online submission form. The word limit excludes the title, author names, and affiliations.
  • Use font Arial 10 characters per inch (font size 10).
  • Use single spacing and type the text unjustified without hyphenating words at line breaks. Use hard returns only to end paragraphs and not to rearrange lines.
  • Type title in sentence case in bold with no full stop at the end.
  • Insert one blank line below the title.
  • List authors by first name followed by family name (e.g. Pieter-Paul Rubens, Jan Van Eyck).
  • Type affiliation underneath the authors in italics: Institution, Country (do not mention street addresses, PO boxes or zip codes). When there are multiple affiliations number them as follows and use the semi-colon between the multiple affiliations: 1lnstitution A, Country; 2Institution B, Country etc.
  • Insert 2 blank lines after the affiliation(s).
  • Max 2 figures or graphs are allowed.
  • Acknowledgements or support or funding can be mentioned in a separate paragraph.
  • References can be added in a separate paragraph in font size 8. If adding references, use the American Chemical Society citation style:

    Important Information:

    • Presenters are not exempt from paying the registration fee.
    • Abstracts will be reviewed for the level of innovation/contribution to the field and the general standard of academic writing of the abstract.
    • Any abstract that was submitted for consideration as an oral communication, but was unsuccessful in that regard, may be considered for poster presentation.
    • All correspondence will be with the submitting/corresponding author only. This author is responsible for disseminating information related to the co-authors.
